With the twitter stream and other social media interactions, I’ve always felt that #tru events were as much about on-line participation and comment as being in the room. While you can’t beat the atmosphere and networking opportunity of being there, for many, budget or geography prevents that. This year, thanks to #truVirtual sponsor JSTN and platinum sponsor and friend of #tru, Jobsite, we will be running a simultaneous virtual unconference.
We wont I don’t think streaming tracks work. Even when you point a camera for recording, people are less willing to open up. The uncertain nature of who is going to speak next means you would need to mic all 100 attendees and have multiple cameras, with a professional mixing crew on stand-by.
To overcome this challenge, trackleaders and attendees will be forming a virtual round-table to recap on the days learning and discussion points so far and taking questions from the twitter stream. Thanks to tweetchat, you will be able to follow the twitter stream and take part while watching the discussion.
The round tables from #trulondon will be streamed every other hour between 10.00a.m. and 4.00p.m. GMT.
The conversation doesn’t stop with the roundtables. We have recruited 12 track leaders from around the world who will be running one hour virtual tracks from New Zealand, India, China, U.S. and other locations. The full list and time-table will be out next week but you can sign up FREE to gain access to virtual #trulondon.
